Best places to cycle in Singapore for fun

Cycling in Singapore is still in its infancy stage. It is not popular, due to the hot and humid weather, pollution and lack of space. There are very few dedicated places to cycle in Singapore. This article will give you some places to cycle for fun or fitness.

1. Marina Bay

This is a popular spot for cycling and there are dedicated cycling tracks around the Marina Bay area. It is a great place to cycle as you get to take in the sights and sounds of Singapore’s Central Business District.

2. East Coast Park

East Coast Park is a huge park located on the east side of Singapore. There are plenty of cycling tracks here, as well as places to rest and have a picnic. The park also has a beach, which makes it a great place to go for a cycle and a swim.

3. Southern Ridges

The Southern Ridges is a 10km long stretch of nature trails that run through the forests and hills of southern Singapore. The trails are hilly and challenging, making it a great place for cycling and exercising. The Southern Ridges are also accessible via the Circle Line at Tanjong Pagar or by bus along Upper Aljunied Road.

4. West Coast Park

This place is great for cycling, as it has a dedicated cycling track around the park about 10km long, which can be completed in under an hour. The park also has barbecue pits, sports amenities, and other outdoor facilities within its vicinity so you can have fun after your cycle.

5. Pulau Ubin

Pulau Ubin is located off the northeast coast of Singapore near Changi Village. It has been converted into a cycling and pedestrian trail, making it one of the longest in Singapore. There are plenty of interesting sights to see along the way, so make sure you have enough time to cycle the entire distance.

7. Central Area

Singapore’s Central Business District (CBD) is a great place for cycling as there are dedicated cycling tracks and it’s a relatively flat area. You can cycle around Raffles Place, Marina Bay, Suntec City, and other parts of the CBD in less than an hour. Just be careful of the traffic and make sure to obey all the traffic rules.

8. Sentosa

Sentosa is a tourist island off the coast of Singapore. It has many attractions such as Universal Studios, Siloso Beach, and Resorts World Sentosa. There are also dedicated cycling tracks on the island which makes it a great place for a cycling holiday. Just be prepared for the hills!

9. Bedok Reservoir

Bedok Reservoir is a large reservoir located in the east of Singapore. It has a cycling track around it that is about 8km long. The track is relatively easy, making it a great place for beginner cyclists. There are also other sporting facilities here, such as a football field, tennis courts, and a swimming pool.

10. East Coast Park Bike Park

East Coast Park Bike Park is a purpose-built bicycle park located in the east coast park. It has many obstacles and ramps for cyclists to try out their skills. It’s great for practicing your stunts or just having some fun.
