Medha Soft is a type of scholarship program or scholarship portal that has been introduced by the Government of Bihar. This scholarship portal has been created for every student who is pursuing their education under the Bihar Education Board, and it aims at providing financial aid and assistance to those in need. There are separate categories under which the Medhasoft programs work.
Medhasoft Program Categories
Medhasoft Program works under certain categoties and they are explained below. Take a look to know more about them:
- Mukhyamantri Balak and Mukhyamantri Balika schemes are there for the students who passed their class 10th exams.
- Another Mukhyamantri Balika scheme, called Kanya Uthan Yojana, is there for female students who passed their class 12 exams.
- Mukhyamantri Kanya Uthan Yojana: Mukhyamantri Balika (Snatak) Protsahan Yojana, another scheme for students who have graduated college and are looking for continuation of further studies.
- Mukhyamantri Medhavriti Yojana for college students.
Application Procedure and Requirements

- Students who want to apply for this scholarship will first need to register for it and need to meet the eligibility criteria. The registration can be done for free.
- Students who are eligible for applying for the Medhasoft scholarship programs under the schemes required for them are needed to apply through the online portal, https://medhasoft.bih.nic.in which has been developed by NIC.
- The students who have been considered eligible will be given an ID and password, which will be sent to the mobile phone number and email address entered during the time of registration.
- The student will be able to fill up the form for the scholarship program once they have successfully logged in to the portal.
- A small fee must be paid by the student while filling the form, but the student must have a bank account that has been opened in their own name and the account is opened in a bank that is of a nationalized bank, a registered private bank or an India Post Approver bank that’s located in Bihar.
- Students will be able to reap the benefits of the Medhasoft Scholarship Programs.
Stipend
Students who have been considered eligible for the Medhasoft Scholarship Program will be offered a certain amount of stipend according to the category they have become eligible for. Before applying for the scholarship, the students must properly go through the notification regarding the program that gets published on the above portal during April-May usually, and the application date usually extends up to September.
