Changi airport isn’t just an ordinary airport terminal, but an everyday traveling funfair. Besides picking or dropping a relative or friend or reaching straight for your plane, there are a ton of things to do at the airport that will not only make your experience better but also wholesome. However, since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic in early 2020, a few activities have been reduced but the safety compliance team is working around the clock to retrieve them.
Below are some of the common things to do at Changi airport.
Shopping
For shopping enthusiasts, you can get drinks, clothing, and electronics from shops and outlets within the airport. They are located in different indicated zones for easy sighting. There are a few outlets that sell both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and include 1855 The Bottle Shop and 8 by Bottles & Bottles found in Jewel 2 area.
You can also find electronics from the Apple outlet, also in Jewel 2. Clothing and shopping bags can be found from Ace bags & luggage, Adidas and Adidas originals outlets. Shopping is a great thing to do while waiting for your airplane or someone to pick.
Dinning
You can never go hungry while at Changi airport. A myriad of food outlets and dining restaurants are spotted all-round, giving you the chance to get full. For coffee lovers, the %Arabica outlet located at Jewel level 1 provides prime quality coffee for you. Desserts, snacks and other eateries’ outlets can be located in both T1, T2, T3, and Jewel. A few of them include Anjappar, Burger King, Food Gallery, Heavenly Wang, and Ippudo Express.
Dining helps you break the monotony of travel, where usually, you arrive, wait, listen to stewards, and board planes. Besides, it keeps you full in case you left home in a hurry without grabbing a meal or if you become ravenous while waiting for your airplane.
Attractions and fun
You can loiter around instead of sitting in the waiting lounge waiting for a plane to arrive. Of course, he who seeks rest finds boredom, so you may want not to stay transfixed on your chair. There are a lot of things to do at Changi airport to elate you and break the monotony of travel. The airport has many attractive amenities, structures, and sites that offer spectacular views to travelers. You can find them in the designated T1, T2, T3, and Jewel zones that are easily accessible to you.
Check out the Arrival garden that has a unique outdoor experience or visit the Manulife to experience the thrill of being almost weightless by bouncing on trampolines. The fun isn’t limited to these, however. There are also other places including the Art Installations with perfectly curated art, the butterfly garden, the Cactus Garden, the Canopy Bridge, the Canopy Park, and the crystal garden, among others that offer wholesome thrills to travelers.
Besides having fun while shopping, dining, or entertaining yourself, you are required to do a few mandatory on-arrival Covid-19 rapid tests. These tests are necessary for people coming from high risk zones and include Polymerase Chain reaction tests (PCR) and Antigen Rapid Tests (ART). They are done by the airport’s safety compliance team who are usually keen to test everyone and cut the spread of the disease.
