Nokia C9 and iPhone 5 are the two flagship smartphones from the two tech giants. While iPhone 5 was released much earlier, Nokia released their C9 in 2017. And with its first look, our impression was quite stupendous. Nokia C9 concept looks like iPhone 5 with a bigger display and less bezel. So, today we are going to fix points if Nokia took the concept from iPhone and which phone you should go for.
The first thing, there is hardly any difference in outlook of the two phones. Even the UI of Nokia C9 carries quite a resemblance to iPhone 5 with square, delicate and neatly arranged icons. Although there are debates going on over the concepts, many tech-specialists deny the resemblance of their concept. Apart from design, their specifications are totally different.
iPhone 5 comes with a 4-inch display while Nokia C9 offers a 5-inch display. Nokia C9 has 441 PPI while iPhone 5 has 326 PPI. iPhone 5 measures 123.80 x 58.60 x 7.60 (height x width x thickness) and weighs 112.00 grams and Nokia C9 measurement is yet to be published by the tech company. C9 has full HD (1080 X 1928) resolutions while iPhone 5 comes with 640 x 1136 pixels.
iPhone 5 is packed with a 1.3GHz dual-core processor that comes with a 1GB RAM. Nokia packed their C9 with1GHz Octa Core, Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, and 3GB RAM. C9 has a 32 GB internal storage expandable up to 128 GB but iPhone 5 only offers a 16GB storage without expansion.
Whether their concepts are same or not; their batteries are opposite almost. iPhone 5 comes with a 1440 mAh battery capacity while C9 boasts with a 4000, mAh, Li-pro non-removable battery. iPhone 5 really lacks behind in this section.
Smartphone cameras have been going through extreme changes due to people’s demand. iPhone being a pioneer in the arena, featured an 8-megapixel rear camera whereas Nokia featured a C9 with the 16-megapixel rear camera. In front, camera C9 comes with an 8-megapixel camera whereas iPhone 5 offers a 1.2-megapixel front camera.
Being a concept phone, Apple iPhone 5 comes with three variants- 5, 5S and 5C. Nokia C9 hasn’t announced any variance of it till now.
Nokia C9 price is approximately 250 USD which makes it a mid-range smartphone. Apple iPhone 5 released almost 6 years ago, is now almost rare to find and prizes around 180 USD lately.
Nokia announced the emergence of C9 as a concept phone in the first quarter of 2017 while iPhone 5 was released almost five years ago of C9’s announcement in 2012. Nokia claimed their C9 to be a futuristic phone and iPhone 5 had claimed the same during its release in the market.
Nokia probably lagged behind in concept C9 surprisingly matches with iPhone 5 although the smartphone industry has gone through revolutionary changes since iPhone 5 have been released. Yet, the trust of Nokia along with their durability makes C9 a hot-cake in the market.
Concept wise both Nokia C9 and Apple iPhone 5 shares some identical features especially in outlook and display. Despite their resemblance, it is hard to decide a better one among them as both of the phones are packed with great features offering customers to select accordingly to their budget and needs.
