The Premier League has been going strong since its mid-December break. As it stands now, the top three teams are Arsenal, who have taken the number 1 spot, winning 14 of the 17 matches that they’ve played, Manchester City, who have won 12, and Newcastle, who have won nine. Right behind them are Manchester United (ranked 4) and Tottenham Hotspur (ranked 5).
Certainly, it will not surprise anyone to find out that the English Premier League is one of the United Kingdom’s most popular betting events. Football is the undisputed king of the sports world, and the biggest betting companies in the UK put a lot of time and effort into covering EPL matches extensively, thoroughly, and with great care.
For everyone who has been following the Premier League (and football in general) for a long time, you probably already know that January is the transfer season. At the start of the year, football clubs bid on and exchange players amongst each other. In this article, we are going to take a look at some of the biggest changes that are coming at the end of the month.
The Transfers
The first team we are looking at is Arsenal. This season, they have certainly earned the top billing, as they’ve only lost one match throughout the whole season. Out of 17 matches, they have won 14, lost one, and tied in two. As of now, they are the undisputed favorites to win the Premier League trophy in 2023.
And from what we know right now, Arsenal will not be taking any new players. However, they certainly will be trading some out. Brooke Norton-Cuffy and Miguel Azeez will be loaned out to two Championship clubs. Norton-Cuffy will be heading to Coventry FC, and Miguel Azeez is being loaned to Wigan Athletics FC.
The next teams we are looking at are the two Manchesters. Manchester City will only be loaning out one player, Josh Wilson-Esbrand, who is going to Coventry City F.C. Manchester United on the other hand is loaning Jack Butland from Crystal Palace.
Next on our list are the rank 3 club, Newcastle United. The Newcastle football club have not loaned out or transferred out any players this season. However, they’ve taken in three different players. Martin Dubravka, who was a recall from Manchester United, Garang Kuol who they took from the Central Coast Mariners, and finally, Amadou Diallo.
The last team we are looking at is Liverpool, who have not lost any players. They have, however, taken in two players. For one, Billy Koumetio is coming back from his loan to Austria Vienna FC. Koumetio was transferred to the Austrian team last season, and it seems in 2023 he is coming back to Liverpool. Cody Gakpo is also joining Liverpool, transferred from PSV.
There are, of course, quite a lot of other transfers to take into account. If you are at all interested in checking them out, all moves are here for you to explore. So, if we have failed to cover your favorite club in this article, you can check out the details for yourself.
